YA Book review: Amy, Chelsea, Stacie, Dee by Mary G. Thompson

Amy, Chelsea, Stacie, Dee by Mary G. Thompson
Sixteen year old Amy returns to the home she hasn’t seen since she was ten years old -- when she and her twelve year old cousin Dee were kidnapped.
Amy -- who thinks of herself now as Chelsea, has to readjust to a ‘normal’ life back home while desperately protecting the secrets of where she was, how she escaped, and most importantly-- what has happened to Dee, who is now 18.
Told in alternating viewpoints of then and now, we learn that Amy and Dee were playing in a  creek not far from their homes when a man named Kyle abducted them and took them to his remote cabin. Kyle has a violent temper. He collects and plays with dolls, and he renames Amy and Dee after two of his favorite dolls -- Chelsie and Stacie. He makes the two girls dress and act just like the Chelsie and Stacie dolls, and both girls’ identities become that of the dolls.
Amy's mom, and her aunt, Dee's mom, are desperate to find out what happened when the two cousins were missing. But Amy is certain that she can't say anything, and is willing to protect her secret -- as well as Dee's secret -- at all costs.
This harrowing, tense psychological thriller will leave you on the edge of your seat.
