Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr

The summer king falls in love with a human and convinces her to take the test to be his queen, a test she does not pass. The result is she is forced to be the servant of the evil winter queen, the summer king's wicked mother.  Many years later, the summer king finds a new human to go after-- but she can see faeries and has no interest in being the summer king's bride. Readers who enjoy stories about faery realms and fantasy will enjoy this book, as well as others by Melissa Marr.   This was a nominee for the 2009/2010 Gateway Readers award in Missouri and saw a lot of circulation in my high school library.
