Children's Review: The Million Dollar Putt by Dan Gutman
Ed "Bogie" Bogart is blind, but he inadvertently discovers he's a natural at golf. He is invited to join a youth tournament with a grand prize of one million dollars. Despite the possibility of winning a lot of money, Bogie's real motivation for winning is to beat his nemesis. If you want to know how a blind person plays golf, read The Million Dollar Putt by Dan Gutman (Gut as in Rut, not boot). This is on the shelf at my high school library, but it's certainly more appropriate for upper elementary or middle school students. A quick, fun read for adults and a book of intereste to high school Hi/Lo readers needing something below grade level.
