Symptoms of Being Human by Jeff Garvin

Riley Cavanaugh is gender fluid. Some days Riley identifies as a girl, some days Riley identifies as a boy. Riley’s father is a United States Congressman and nobody really knows about Riley’s gender fluidity. Riley is starting a new school and it’s all a bit much, so Riley starts an anonymous blog to write about what Riley can’t talk about in real life: what it’s like to be a gender fluid teenager. Not long after, Riley’s blog is featured on a prominent LGBTQ Website, and suddenly Riley’s start-up blog has 35,000 followers. To complicate matters, somebody has figured out who Riley really is. And now Riley faces the choice of walking away from something that seems to be making a real difference in teenagers lives, or coming out and risking everything -- including Riley’s dad’s congressional seat.
