YA review: The Christopher Killer by Alane Ferguson

17 year old Cameryn Mahoney wants to follow in her father's footsteps as the county coroner.  Now on the payroll as an assistant, Cameryn must use her knowledge of forensic pathology to catch her best friend's killer, someone who leaves a Saint Christopher's medallion on each of his victims.  The autopsy scenes are graphic, and some of the adults seem unrealistically obtuse when confronted with obviously important clues to solving the crime.  This will appeal to high school students who want to 'do the CSI thing', as several of my students have said when asked what their career pathways might be. The novel spawned several sequels and features a strong female protagonist.
