Cookbook Review: Cooking from the Farmer's Market

Jodi Liano's (Williams Sonoma's) Cooking from the Farmer's Market: Shop, Cook, Eat, should come with a warning label. This book will make anyone who either enjoys cooking or farmer's markets want to run out the door in search of farmer's market fare to bring home to prepare and eat. The book is divided into logical sections, and the highlight of the title is the lush, gorgeous photographs. I frequently found myself thinking, "My farmer's market doesn't have food that looks THIS good!" Like many other Williams Sonoma cookbooks, great care has been taken in the visuals and the outcome is a stunning, incredibly appealing book.
The growing appeal of the farm-to-table approach makes this cookbook a welcome addition to the lexicon of cookbooks. The author has a wide offering of recipes and preparation ideas, and highlights seasonal and regional availability for a cornucopia of fresh foods.
Cooking from the Farmer's Market is right at home in my large cookbook library, and I recommend it regardless of the season!
